Okay. My first blog post. I wanted to start to do this as an attempt to share with other people some of the things that I have learned. I am reading my favorite book of the Bible right now, James. There are verses in that book that nail me to the wall. One of particular interest is in chapter 3, verses 9 and 10:
" with the tounge we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be"
Ouch! Since we are right in the middle of football season, and I cheer for a team that is no good, alot of good and bad things come out of my mouth. For instance, I get up in the morning and say my prayers before a game. I ask God's blessing on the food that I'm about to eat at the tailgate. Then, not too long after, I'm cursing at the opposing team, the guy in front of me that's smoking, sometimes I even curse at the people that I am with. The Bible says that this simply should not be. God is holy, and I should not talk to him using the same mouth that I curse with.

um...whoa! God's word is powerful. i've been convicted of that myself here lately. btw...i think you're doing just fine for your first blog and entry.
